Pre-Swim
Welcome to Joyful Dolphin swim classes! After extensive research, discussion with other swim schools and agreement with the Grove Pool we have developed our guidelines. You will know exactly what to expect and be able to feel safe and at ease in your preparation and during your visit.
We feel the government has laid out clear advice on when we should self-isolate. It is everyone’s personal responsibility to only attend classes if they are fit and well and free from all symptoms of the virus. Do not attend classes if required to isolate.
- Government and National Governing Body guidance recommends pool users shower pre & post-swim at home and to arrive ‘beach style’ with your costume under your clothes and the same if possible for your child. You will need to bring your own changing mat if needed.
- Happy nappies are available to purchase and invoices will be sent.
- There will be changing facilities but their use will need to be brief and showers will not be available at this time.
- As there will be no showers, it is extremely important that both parents and children are clear of all creams and lotions as this would effect the quality of water in the pool. Unfortunately you won't be allowed in the water if you have them on, we do apologise.
On Arrival
Getting Changed
- Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your class and maintain social distancing at all times. Be reassured you will be kindly guided through our one-way system and new procedures.
- Swimmers bikes to be left at front of the school in the bike shed
- Only bring a buggy if completely necessary, if you do they will need to be collapsed whilst in the building or left outside
- On arrival you will need to scan our QR code using your smartphone if you have the track and trace App. All registers will be taken as normal to record attendance each day. Hand sanitiser is freely available.
- On arrival you will be allocated a personal station in the foyer area where you will be able to get changed. When directed please take everything with you to a chair in the pool areas. You may find it helpful to bring a large bag with you.
- It is required that adults wear a face mask at all times except in the pool.
- Swimmers including parents are encouraged to wear appropriate clothes that can be taken off and put on easily. Onesies are good for children, joggers for grown-ups and slip on shoes for all. Please avoid boots and socks etc. as time at exit door is limited.
- Post swim you will be able to use the changing rooms to get changed, showers will not be available.
Your Classes
- We endeavour to keep your experience of classes the same as they have always been. Lessons will run normally, but some adaptations will be necessary. For example, instructors may teach from the poolside on occasion. The teacher will take a few minutes at the end of each class to allow for the safe movement of bathers through the pool hall.
- Our teachers and staff will wear masks or visors, they have received Covid 19 training and are completely familiar with our specific guidelines.
- Cleaning of areas and equipment will take place between all classes and the pool will be maintained to its usual high standard.
- There will be a maximum of six adult and child pairs plus your teacher. This is well within all the national swim bodies guidelines.
- We are only able to accommodate one parent/carer to one child at this time due to strict numbers in the venue at any one time. For the same reason we cannot accommodate siblings or anyone wishing to watch classes.
- Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to offer trials or make up classes, please accept our apologies
- Please assist us in settling into an easy routine and do follow the instructions of our Joyful Dolphin team as we adjust and continue to offer an educational and fun experience for all.
Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation during these times. We are delighted to be able to reopen, see you soon.
